Handmade in Jaipur, the gemstone capital of India
Jaipur is known as the gemstone capital of India. The city earned this title back in the 18th century, when the maharaja had a serious crush on bling. His insatiable hunger for gemstones and jewelry reshaped the city around his desires. Craftspeople from all corners of India flocked to Jaipur. And perhaps it’s in their DNA, because to this day the city’s craftsmanship is truly unmatched. You can imagine, it was the place we had to be.
Creative Designs: where traditional techniques meet modern designs
In 2024, we found our new co-creation partner in Creative Designs. And what a partner it is - it couldn’t be a better match. These talented makers use modern tools to apply traditional techniques and are true experts in gemstone setting. What’s more, their workshop is renowned for its focus on social impact and its extensive certifications: Eco-Friendly, Fair Trade, ISO 9001 Certified Company with strict Work and Worker Ethics and Social Compliance. A golden match indeed.

The foundation of our timeless creations
The gemstones in our Timeless Treasures collection are of higher quality and clarity than those in our regular collections. They are faceted and set by skilled artisans in Jaipur.
We work with brass: silver-plated or 22-karat gold-plated. Our rings are finished with a thicker 1-micron gold coating, as rings can be more prone to wear. Silver rings are crafted from the highest quality sterling silver (925/1000).
E-coating: the invisible layer of protection
To optimize the quality of our jewelry, each piece is finished with an e-coating. This goes far beyond a simple layer of varnish. Applying e-coating is an electrostatic process, the coating ‘fuses’ with the metal. Not a fan of chemistry class? Don’t worry, we’ll explain.
In a dipping bath, an electric current is applied, causing the charged particles of the coating to be drawn to the oppositely charged metal. This creates a smooth, protective layer. Bottom line: the thin yet strong e-coating protects your jewelry from oxidation, scratches, and other forms of wear.
The secret to keeping your treasures beautiful over time
Of course, there are also a few things you can do – or avoid – to keep your jewelry beautiful.
- Using make-up, hairspray or perfume? Apply them first, and only then put on your jewelry.
- Our jewelry is not a fan of water. Take it off before cleaning, showering or swimming.
- Chemicals, extreme temperatures and direct sunlight are not good for your jewelry.
- Store your jewelry in a dry place, preferably not in the bathroom. Even better: keep it safe in our Treasure Keepers.
- To restore the shine, gently polish your jewelry now and then with one of our polishing cloths. Work around the gemstones, and if needed, clean them separately with a soft, clean microfiber cloth.
